Application Manager Apps Now Support Queues By Default

Queues - Nobody likes them except programmers

In this age of AI, having applications that can create and process requests from a queue is essential. Why? Because AI is fantastic, but often slow to respond. If you have ever worked with AI or used an AI agent, you know that "thinking" about an answer to a question or request can take a fair amount of time.

What you don't want to do is make a user wait for an answer. Let them go about other tasks while AI does its work. Here is a concrete example of where a queueing process would make a lot of sense:

Let's say I made an AI enabled app that does CSV imports of data into NetSuite. Does NetSuite already do this? Of course. Can NetSuite do more than 1 import at a time? No, not unless you have a SuiteCloud+ license. Can NetSuite process files with more than 25K lines? No.

Well, by using queue management and processing, you could upload a 20MB file of CSV records and put the records on a queue to be processed asynchronously. Upload a handful of files simultaneously and they all go on the queue to be processed. You don't sit and wait for each file to be uploaded - it happens in the background while you move on to other work.

Now that all your data is on a queue (you can have multiple queues for different kinds of jobs), you need queue workers to take the data off the queue and process it. Of course, you can record the status of each record processed for later analysis and re-submission to the queue upon failure. NetSuite can't do that for you, either.

And to finish this all off, AI could do all the field mapping for you, and even flag and fix those failed records. It could even do some analysis over the long term and learn what the common failures are, fixing the data before it is even put on the queue in the first place.

I think I might have to build this app.
