RAG, BRDs, and the CMS Working Together: Making NetSuite Implementations Better, Faster, and More Consistent

It's a very exciting time here at Suite Resources!
What started out as a simple way to track what applications various teams were working on has grown into a sophisticated AI Application Platform that creates AI enabled applications.
One application I've always had in the back of my mind was one that could make creating Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) easier and better for NetSuite implementations. For any NetSuite consultants out there who have tried to use NetSuite's Blueprint tool, you know how difficult it can be to get good results into a document:
- Filter and export the data from the Blueprint Excel spreadsheet.
- Put the features/leading practices for each business process on a separate tab of a workbook.
- Share the workbook with your team in Teams, Google Docs, or wherever you keep your team documents. Some people put their BRD in the NetSuite File Cabinet, but that's not really shareable in the same way Teams or Google Docs lets multiple people edit documents simultaneously.
- Set up time to have discussions with various department representatives and document your discussions. Maybe you use AI to take notes of a Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet session.
- Rinse, repeat, hold more meetings. Add your new notes.
- Send out the BRD for some conjured up approval process.
Seriously - that's so 2020. It's almost 2027! This should all be done via a multi-user application that leverages AI. The things you need for a really great BRD creation tool are now at your fingertips with the Suite Resources BRD Manager application:
- Multiple users can be assigned to multiple teams, since you could be working on more than one BRD at a time across different projects
- Access to a version of the Blueprint tool that makes sense - a catalog of nearly 10,000 NetSuite features and leading practices filtered by region, edition, and market. Example: AFA/Premium/NoAM
- Pull the needed Blueprint lines into your BRD with the click of a button
- Use an AI assistant to guide you through the Blueprint discussions business process by business process, Blueprint line by Blueprint line.
- Have the ability to add custom requirements that may need extra configurations or customizations to complete.
- Include a threaded notes capability everywhere in the application. You can even upload documents to your notes!
And the coup de gras... using our new RAG capabilities, give the AI assistant a knowledge base to work from that contains all the accumulated knowledge your company or team has gleaned during all the years of implementing NetSuite across multiple verticals.
Well, this is what we've done. All of it. All AI enabled.
-
We have had AI enabled across all of our applications from day 1.
-
AI assistants are not new, but connecting ours with nearly 10,000 NetSuite features and leading practices is.
-
Using our custom made CMS application, you can create internal facing knowledge bases (KBs) using the same blogging tools we developed to make the blog you're looking at now.
-
By pointing the AI assistant inside BRD Manager at your KB, you can provide fine tuned responses from the AI assistant. Use text, images, or other media in the KB for a full AI experience.
What's left to do? We are considering making sign off on the BRDs binding by using DocuSign. Your clients formally agree on the BRD, making it an ironclad agreement on requirements and scope.
